INSPIRATIONAL MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURES

“Finished with a Snowdon summit through the clouds to epic views, not to mention one of the best descents ever. Thoroughly recommend! Book immediately” Joe Viveash, Hants

Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa)

Wales’ highest mountain and one that every mountain biker should tick.

Snowdon’s not a ride, it’s an event. It’s the highest mountain in Wales (it’s actually the highest mountain south of the Scottish Highlands), with even the most straightforward route involving around 1000m of ascent, and some serious hike-a-bike. But boy is it worth it…
But not everyone is comfortable tackling big mountains, it is committing and can be intimidating. Even more so from 1 May to 30 September, when a voluntary agreement excludes bikes from the trails between 10am and 5am, making daylight an issue and adding to the stress.
We can definitely take the stress out of it. Typically we’ll climb to the summit from Llanberis, descend the awesome rock fest that is the Ranger Path and then return via the full-fun Telegraph Valley. But other options are available.
In winter we can go at any time of day (weather permitting), but during the summer we need to leave at dawn or get up the mountain and back down again between late afternoon and sunset.

Is this ride for me?

It’s a short ride, but a big one, with a massive climb (usually between 2.5 to 3.5 hours uphill) and at least one huge descent. There are a few sections that are a fair bit harder than the average trail centre Black, but they can be walked. We reckon that if you don’t mind a bit of walking (up and down), and are happy on Red trails, you’ll have a great time. If you can handle the Blacks with style, you’ll love it. If you are in any doubt, please give us a call to discuss.
